This is one of the alleged 500 built for homologation purposes as Rover struggled to compete with the then new Ford Sierra Cosworth in saloon sports car racing. Rover's own publications stated it was capable of 0-60 in under 7 seconds, with a top speed around 145mph. I have owned it since 03.1989 and for the last 10+ years it has been dry stored and covered, and used only occasionally. I have enough spares to fill a transit that would go with it, including many new body parts and 2nd. hand mechanical.
